In 10 years I put back on 70 pounds. But, I had absolutely no follow up or instruction on how to use this great tool. Unfortunately, you have to know ahead of time that you have to utilize it and not continue to make choices that your body will adjust to. You will adjust and tolerate sugars and fats if you keep eating them. If you drink when you eat, you will make a slurry that will go through faster so you can eat more. I am having a revision in a couple days and I am thankful to know how to make the most of the revision. You only have the first couple years learn before it's too late.

MY MOM IS 4 YRS POST OP AND GAINED ABOUT 60 LBS BACK. 6 WKS AGO I HAD THE RNY SO SHE DECIDED TO FOLLOW ME..GOING BACK TO THE BASICS. SHE CUT OUT SODA, BREADS, ETC. SHE IS DOWN 20 LBS. IT IS VERY HARD ON HER CAUSE SHE IS A STRESS EATER. BUT SHE IS WORKING HARD AND I KNOW SHE WILL GET IT ALL BACK OFF. BEFORE MY MOM STARTED THIS SHE KEPT A JOURNEL FOR A WEEK OF ALL HER INTAKE OF FOOD AND DRINK.. SHE WAS SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST. SHE COULDNT BELIEVE IT. SHE STILL JOURNALS EVERY DAY. IT HELPS ALOT!!! I have gained about 40 lbs back and I am 4 years postop. I have discovered that my biggest problem is sugar. I dump but only on lots of it so I have cut out all my sugar except what comes in food naturally. I was eating 2 and 3 candy bars every day and eating all day long. I have started losing again. I wish you the best of luck. I know how frustrating it is to do so well only to put some of it back on.

I had my surgery over 6 years ago and gained back 60 pounds, I also has no follow up instruction or support. I am now doing the Kimkins plan and I am losing the weight and I have no hunger ... it is very much like what a post surgery diet should be... high protein and LOW fat.

Hi Tonya, thanks for writing. Many many people are in your shoes. Obesity is a head issue with a body consequence, even after surgery! I am 3 1/2 years out, and so far I have not regained any of my weight, but I know many who have. It is tough, but the basics remain the same answer over and over again. Protein, water and exercise. You have to cut the junk and batten down the hatch and fight for the weight loss. If you don't fight for it, then the result is you get to keep the weight. The choice is your to make. I know that we are emotional or stress eaters, but the truth is that we have to fight those stupid head games and break through, and there is no easy way to do that. You can join weight watchers or some other overeater program and they will absolutely help you, but you have to make the decision to not let your head trick you into eating. You may need professional counseling, do what it takes to put your health back on track. Some go for a revision, but that can come with a high level risk of complications, and honestly, if you deal with your head issues, your body will respond with consequences that work for you. I have learned to deal with stress with prayer, cleaning house and exercise rather than food. Reading God's Word instead of eating a large plate of food makes a big difference for me. The head game is still alive for me, so I take it just one day at a time. You do the same. The battle is yours to win, the answer is how hard are you willing to fight? You still have a great tool. Take care, Patricia P.

Hey you already have the "TOOL" now use it! Start eating all protien and smaller amounts and a lot of water! You can dump poundage now like a dumptruck loses a load! GO DO IT

I had gained about 40 pounds from my lowest weight back after 4 years from having gastric by-pass(RNY). I recently joined kimkins and have lost twelve(12) pounds in 7 days. I told myself this has got to be my way of life and not a diet. I did not get much counseling on the after life of surgery so I learned the hard way. Carbs are not my friend. This time I want fail. I never reached my goal weight or my doctors goal weight but with this plan I know I will this time. I am determined to win the war. If you have any questions you can email me at [email protected] The kimkins plan does work and since eating so much protein my cravings for sweets have gone. Sweets were my downfall after surgery. I knew exactly how much would make me dump and not go over and then wait awhile and have some more.
