Question:
How do you find out how your doctor rates in your state among other surgeons?
I live in North Carolina and I heard someone say you can check how your doctor ranks among other surgeons. Some people actually use this to determine which doctor to go to. Please help. — DonnaRichards (posted on June 1, 2007)

I suggest mdnationwide.org. I'm not too sure if you can compare surgeons
on this site, but you can obtain background checks on them, etc, so check
it out further to see if that site can help you!

I ound this online and thought it might help. i checked out my dotors in CT
and in Fl and it had all the important info. hope it helps.
Go to Google and type in the full name of a doctor (i.e. Dr. Jerome
Garden), the city or state, and a specialty
field. These keywords gives you a general idea if the doctor has been
involved in communities, written publications, media, and so on.
Visit your State Medical Board and find out if your medical board is one of
the few who offer free doctor reports. Medical boards let you know if your
(the) doctor has ever been disciplined in that particular state and give
you doctor licensure status.
Next, check out the ABMS and the AMA for proper board certification and
organizational status.
