Question:
extreme fatigue and poor sex life, will it get better?
i am planning on having GBS sometime early spring , i go for my 1st appt on dec7th , and the main reason i'm having it done is to be healthier. i am extremely fatigued all the time and my sex life is nearly nonexistent (for about the last year),and being a newlywed this ain't good! i want to know from your experience did you have these problems and will it get better? holly — RNlvnCARSON (posted on November 29, 2006)

Hi Holly, I basically had the surgery as I had problems with highblood
pressure and my heart. I also was a very unhappy person inside. The best
thing I ever did was have the surgery. I am now 100% healthier than before
and my relationship with my husband is the best it has ever been. You
will not regret it.

improved. In ALL areas of my life. Good Luck with your journey.

be ready for the new you. Your stamina will improve 100% especially after
about the first month of having surgery. I was like you in the area of
having a nonexistent sex life but now WOW!!!! Good Luck on your surgery.

I am so glad you asked this question. I am also a newlywed and hoping if I
have the surgery it will help me not be so tired. My husband would be a
very happy man.

Having the surgery will be the best thing in the world that you can do for
yourself.Plus after you lose the weight your sex life only gets better.I
had the surgery in 2004 and I did it for a birthday present to myself and I
would do it all over again if I had too.It is worth everything that you
have to go through just be patient.Good Luck

From a man's perspective: You betcha things improve! I'm 3 months post op
and down 68lbs. Do you realize how much more stamina you have when you
lose that much weight? I have another 60lbs to go before my goal weight.
I hope my sweetie can keep up with me! She's lost about 15lbs since my
surgery mainly because I don't cook as much as I used to. Good luck and God
bless! Congratulations on yourmarriage.

I'm glad you asked this question. I haven't had surgery yet and one of the
reasons I want to have it is because I am soooo tired. I could nap every
day. Also, my legs and feet hurt all the time. I hardly do anything
because I am in so much pain. I am 256 right now will be going for my
seminar on 12/13.

While you still might feel a bit drained after the surgery because you're
not getting in as much protein and vitamins as you're used to, I guarantee
it DOES get better. As you get thinner and feel more attractive and
energetic your sex drive and energy levels really do come back. I had
*open* RNY and was having sex within two weeks - had an almost voracious
appetite (maybe trading in one appetite for another?). LOL!

Holly, I'm also hoping to have my surgery in the spring. Let's keep in
touch. I sure would like someone to go thru this with. Do you live in the
Houston area?
