Hello Well first of all it all depends on how much you weighed when you had
the surgery. I know the more you weigh the more you lose when you first
have the surgery. When I had the surgery I weighed 336 and in the first
month I lost 30 pounds. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and
you will lose don't worry. I am now seven and a half months post op and
have lost a total of 123 pounds. Good luck and if you have any other
questions let me know. Jeannie

I lost on average 20lbs per month for the 1st 5 months. Then it went down
to 10-15lbs/month. I am now 11 months out and have gone from 278lbs to
154lbs. That's 124lbs in 11 months. I eat a proteing shake once a week and
do about 30min cardio 5X per week and am very active. When I first got my
surgery done I was sure I would be the one that it didn't work for. Do the
best you can and you will succeed.

I had my surgery on December 28, 2005. The first week I lost 13.5 pounds. I
am pretty sure that weightloss varies for each individual, but I have heard
that at first you average between 20 and 40 pounds per month. I am now
about 2 months out and have gone from 308 to 239, that's 69 total pounds. I
work out at least 3 times per week (hoping not to have too much
"flab"). I don't know how much you have lost, but hang in there,
it will come off easy enough.

Sometimes you don't lose that much the first week as you still have the
fluid that they pumped you full of in the hospital. That is why you only
lost 6 lbs the first week. Also, did you have the lapband or bypass? Lap
band is a little slower losing, you still lose it all. Stop and think about
it though. 6 lbs per week times 4 weeks (month). That is 24 lbs a month!
Slow? I don't think so.

Keep you eyes on the ball love. Don't think so much about "how much
weight" - think more about the process. What are you doing to make
you healthier? That's what this is all about. We all loose weight at
different speeds. Keep your focus... keep asking the questions, and
seeking the answers. Motivation: Living a healthier, longer life. Keep
that in mind. Keeping you in prayer :-)

take it slowly and stick to it! You are doing great!

Make sure you do not compare yourself to others. I did when I first had
the surgery and I worried myself to the point that my throat swelled shut!
Just follow your heart and do what you know is right for your body and the
weight will come off. I am three months out and 90 lbs down. Most of my
weight came off the 2nd month and I have hit a few plateaus. Just eat
right, exercise and down worry! Welcome to the losing side!

as of the 6th of Feb (had surgery on 10/17) I was down 88lbs. I think it's
going to depend on how much you weighed as well as how well you take care
of yourself afterwards. I've been watching what I eat and I don't crave
anything anymore. It's a good thing.
