Overall I would say four weeks. Two weeks until I felt good enough to do
things.

Hi Pam,
I was only off work for a week. After about 3 weeks though I started to
have a lot of pain where the lap band is placed. Eventually this subsided
and they started to adjust the band. I've been very aggressive at having
the band tightened, to the point that I eventually had to have it deflated
a little because I was having trouble keeping food down. But...the results
have been wonderful. I've lost 140 lbs since the surgery last May. That's
one of the draw backs of the lap band, that you usually don't loose as much
weight or as fast as you would with the RNY procedure. But I believe, as my
doctor does that if you're a little aggressive in having it tightened,
you'll achieve better results.
Good luck Pam, and best wishes for your future.

For a successful 'lapband' a week. Ive seen people have it on wednesday
and be back at school that monday. I had to have mine done 'open'
(lapband) and was only off two weeks - but open lapbands are RARE.
If you don't have a strenous job. look for a week. good luck

I was healed within a week, but *exhausted* for about three. Anasthesia
takes everyone differently. Bill has good advice re: fills, by the way.
:)
Best of luck to you!

two days after surgery i was pushing my mom in her wheel chair at a
museum--i just felt like i had a really intense ab work out--no real pain
to speak of. i would say a little over a week and i felt normal again.
