You never said why you lost your insurance if it was because you lost your
job you can pick your insurance up through Cobra just ask your former
employer about it. other than that I don't know.

Oh Tammy, I hate to be the one to break your heart..but if
you are trying to find individual insurance to to cover the
surgery..you are never going to find it!! Trust me I looked and
and checked with every insurance company under the sun, there
were only two that would even cover me,,but the price was
500.00 a month and it didnt even include the surgery..The
only way you are gonna get insurance is through an employer,
and I doubt you would even get that in 18days...the only
option you may have now is to get a loan or something,
I was supposed to have my surgery done in april and I had
the money to have it done, but I got stupid and just assumed
I would find insurance and be able to pay off all my debts
too...But you know what..there is no insurance out there for
overweight people unless its through and employer and
then they have to take you..you may trade your state
rehabilitation commision..i hear it works for some, I had to
find another job that offered me insurance, so now I have
AETNA,,,that kicks in on Sept 29, my appt with my surgeon is
oct 1..I hope everything works out for you!

You listed Aetna as your insurer, but said you made a mistake and are not
covered. Could you go through your husband's employer for Aetna coverage?
If you do nt have a job, would you consider getting one that offered
insurance? If your insurance has been terminated due to a change in
employment, get COBRA through the employer. I have insurance through my
employer and full time employment is 25 hours per week for benefits--not
bad! There is the standard 90 day waiting period but maybe you could work
the system in order to have your surgery covered! Best of luck to
you--email if you need any assistance!
