Question:
Is there a chart showing the PERCENT of weight we should lose at 3-6-9-12 months out?

On message board today, a gal went to the doctor and her doctor was pleased because she had lost 25% of her weight at 8 weeks although she seemed to be losing slowly compaired to others in terms of pounds. I have lost 25% of my weight at 6 weeks but have been not feeling good about my weight loss in terms of POUNDS lost. There must be a chart which our doctors use in watching our weight loss in terms of PERCENTAGE lost. Does anybody know about such information -- what PERCENTAGE of our weight should be aim to lose by 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, etc...? I think this would really help some of us low losers feel better about our weight loss. Thanks!    — Shar /. (posted on April 12, 2000)

Bariatric Treatment centers gives these average weight loss statistics for their patients. Twenty percent of excess weight lost in six weeks, Thirty-three percent in 3 months, Sixty-seven percent in 12 months. Of course these are just averages, half the people will lose faster, and half will lose slower. It also depends on what surgery you have. BTC does proximal RnY's with 150cm bypassed and a one ounce pouch.
