For the first couple of months post-op I took a stool softener
morning and night ... after the first bottle was used up, I
forgot all about it and have been fine ever since. The only
exception is when I don't drink enough water. Hope this helps!

I use WASA fiber crackers, one every couple days if I need it.
They pretty much taste like cardboard so I eat it with my
lunch and have tuna salad that day.

My doc. recommended metimucil or citricel after my surgery. I have luckily
not had to use it yet. I always make sure I get the minimum water daily
and usually I go over. I also add lemon to my water part of the day. I
have been regular (daily) very consistantly for the past 6 months. Good
luck.

I was told I could take milk of magnesia or Citrucil - one Tablespoon with
water - sip over a 10 minute period. But, ask your own doctor first.

I have sever problems with constipation. I have learned to use
Colace,(stool softner) on the first day I don't have a BM, and then I use
any laxtive(Biscadil, Correctal), then next day if I don't have any
results. I also make sure I get my water in. Good Luck!

Hello, I am 6 months post op and this was a big problem for me too.
Try taking milk of mag about every 3 days. You have to take about 4 ozs
for a laxative effect. I quit drinking sugar free koolaide and
the consataption is much better. Exersize will also help by moving things
along. Good Luck. tina frey

Metamucil also makes a wafer to eat (not bad at all in taste I'm told) I
have not had constipation yet, but I got some of these just in case . ;-0

Fresh fruit, it tastes great and really works! I prefer grapes or
grapefruit in glass jars.
