I had my lap band surgery oct 09 and my most weightloss was 20lbs some of
that was presurgery. I have put on all my weight. I told my doctor I wished
I had had another surgery I have medicare so I don't have to have a
preapproval if I have other medical problems. I have sleep aptha and
borderline diebetic. I don't know what insurance you have but I had to have
6mths diet documentation I 3 already from the lap band so I did three more.
Now I am compleating presurgery check ups and I can go any time. I am
reading on all the boards here about ds or rny really checking things out
before I make a decision on what to have. The only thing my isnurance
doesn't cover is the sleeve. Keep me posted if you have any questions let
me know.

First, I would make sure you are doing things correctly. Have you been
ding your fills? Are you are restriction? Are you following the rules
(protein first, no drinking with food...)?
I have lap-band, I lost only 20 lbs in the first several months while
waiting to get restriction. That time is very frustrating.
Just a thought

I got the band October of 09 and have lost 170 lbs. I followed every rule
my doc set up for me to a tee. If you are not losing you aren't doing it
right. Bottom line.

Agreed w/last post. I too had lapband on 9/8/09 and have lost 93 pounds to
this point. I followed every rule in the book since day one and the weight
just fell off initially. I haven't gained anything back, but i am at a
stand still at this point. I want to lose another 20-30 pounds so I think
I'm going to go back to basics for a bit to kick it off again. The thing
we have to remember here is that the band is solely a tool and it is up to
us to make it work. Go back to basics and do everything your docs and
Nut's tell you and you should have the results you want to see. My
challenge right now is cookouts and I plan to post a question about that
tonight. Good luck!

I had my surgery in Jan 09 and lost weight for awhile and then stopped.
Now it is a pound here and there, but never hit 100 pounds. I wish you
luck.
