i wouldn't take a product that gives you "gas with oily
discharge" and an "inability to control bowel movements" for
all the tea in china. if you have the lap band i'm guessing that taking
alli is PROBABLY the same as if you took it without having had surgery.
however, i would guess that if you've had RNY it is probably unwise to take
ALLI. you aren't really able to eat foods that have much fat in them and
you're already absorbing fewer nutrients than before. so i wouldn't try
it.

I had a Gastric Sleeve last year, and my weight loss has pretty much
petered out. So my WLS surgeon told me to start taking Alli.

Please do yourself a favor and ask your weight loss Dr.! They know best
what will help if you do decide to take a weight loss appetite depressant.
Sometimes the bad is worse than a few extra pounds.

With RNY you malabsorb fat anyway...This is one of the major reasons for
malnutrition of the fat soluble vitamins in the first place! DSers DEPEND
on high fat consumption for nutrition...It is UNWISE to be looking for a
magic pill AFTER WLS KNOWING that it doesn't exist...The best way to lose
weight is "diet and exercise"...Read the bottle of
ALLI...somewhere it says to diet and exercise as well! All published diets
and diet aids ALL SAY THOSE words...That's because it is the only tried and
true method to lose weight...and having WLS is only a small tool to help
keep it off with "DIET AND EXERCISE"! LOL just trying to make a
point...
