I've had gallstones. Had them for 3 years without knowing it. They are very
painful when they act up, which for me luckily is very rare. The pain for
me was in my upper abdomen and it radiated out. Talk to your doctor about
your suspicions and ask if you can get an ultrasound to check... I had been
told for 3 years my pain was GERD and nobody told me it could be gallstones
until they diagnosed me one time when I went to the ER with a particularly
bad episode. BTW best thing to do as far as I hear is to get laproscopic
surgery to remove your gallbladder. Otherwise you could develop more
serious complications from stones getting stuck in your tubes... you could
get jaundice and infections, etc... having to have emergency surgery. Good
luck!

HI I had gallstones in December. My pain was in my upper right stomach
area. It came and went and was worse after I ate. Unfortunately usually
once you have gallstones the only fix is to have your gallbladder removed.
Lucky for me they removed my gallbladder when they did my WLS. If you've
alreasdy had WLS then they will try to go through the old scars to remove
your gallbladder. Until you have the gallbladder removed you will continue
to have pain. You also run the risk of infection from the stones. The
biopsy from my gallbladder showed I was developing the beginning of an
infection. My doctor didn't really recommend I wait to have treatment.
Good luck to you. Hope this helps

If you have gall stones you will know it. I had them in my sixth month
out. The pain was unbearable. I had to take a ambulance ride to the
hospital spent the fourth of july on the operating table getting the gall
bladder out. Now I dump. Didn't before that. You should request an
ultrasound to make sure. Good luck!

I had gallstones off and on for over 10 years before one got stuck. My
urine was the color of dark tea, I was very itchy then I became jaundiced.
Spent 5 days in the hospital with my doctor attempting to get the stone
unstuck, a transfer to another hospital to actually get the stone finally
unstuck, back to my original hospital and then finally having my
gallbladder removed. Whew! What a giant hassle for something I should
have taken care when symptoms first showed their ugly heads 10 years ago.
If you do have gallstones get to your doctor for an ultrasound and a
diagnosis and if it's recommended to have your gallbladder removed then do
so. Better to do this on your timetable than have to go through what I
did. Of course, they don't always tell you everything when your in the
hospital because afterwards both my surgeon and my GI told me that they
were very worried for me and that it was life threatening. Sometimes
ignorance is bliss because I was never worried! LOL My point is this, get
this taken care of if you do have gallstones. The surgery was a piece of
cake and I was back to work in no time. Good luck!
