Question:
Is are we allowed to have sparkling (carbonated)  waters??

I have talked to a lot of WLS folks and they all say they felt terrible
after drinking anything carbonated.  It seems to bubble up and I know that
I looked like a mad dog, frothing at the mouth.  Susan

Nope!  Carbonation can expand your stomach pouch.  And after being off
carbonation for 10 months, I can tell you it is awful on the mouth and the
tummy!

Hello -- my doctor said absolutely no carbonated drinks --- for the same
reason as stated above... It expands the pouch.  may this be of help...  gk

Nothing carbonated... no carbonated drinks at all. Not even water.

No  carbonated drinks for  all the above reasons  are  correct. Especially
explanding the  pouch  let along the trouble that goes with it.  I wonder
why  some nurses or  staff  members don't tell this to  their patients?

I even read (sorry can't remember where)that a "flat" carbonated
drink is bad as there is still CO2 in it.  My surgeon's office taught in a
class that CO2 expands when warmed up by the body.  Not good for a now
smaller pouch.  For me personally, I will not want to go through my surgery
next month only to ruin it for a little bit of bubbly.

I stay away from them mostly, but enjoy a 1/2 a can of Fresca now an
then...I usually use it in mixed drinks like with a little mango juice and
crushed mint leaves and crushed ice in the summer...I just sip it...I think
you must use your own discretion in these matters! I couldn't touch
anything carbonated for years though (OUCH!!!) and didn't even bother!
