Hi Birgitt...were you a diabetic before surgery ??
I was a Type II diabetic before surgery and had been diagnosed with
neuropathy in my feet. Since surgery (Nov. 4th) I'm off all meds. and my
feet feel "better" than they did but I still have the same
"symptoms" as you mentioned...just not as severe now.
Good Luck to you and hope "they" can figure out what it is !!

I could be dead wrong but what you have sounds like something my Mom had.
You don't hear much about this but it is called "Chilblaine" I
don't even know if I spelled it right. You might run that past your Doc.
Great job on the wls. Hang in there. It seems like weird things creep up
on you for a while after wls.

well mine bother me before surgery and still do after a 35lb lost, I had to
see a foot dr and they measured me for arch supports . I notice a big
difference and I am on a med called neurontin for my legs, back and feet,
which the genric name is called Gabapentin it is used to treat other nerve
pain conditions (e.g., diabetic neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy,
trigeminal neuralgia). I had the nerve testing done first, because even
though Im not on any diabetic meds anymore my toes still fill cold and hurt
all the time plus my vit d was way down. So I think you should see a
specialist, my orthopedic found my problem. Good Luck

I w ould see a Foot specialist. Your legs might not be use to you walking
or moving around as much as you use to either You lost alot of weight and
your whole body will be aliening differently. Could be spurs.
congradulations of the weight loss. Either senerio I would see your family
doctor and go from there. Good luck

We can all take stabbing guesses at this...but your best bet is to keep
going to the docs and specialists with complaints until someone finds what
is wrong and can treat it if possible...It might be somethng that is not
treatable, but at least you will know one way or the other what to do and
what not to do! Leg and feet trouble are NOTHING to ignore! And blood
clots can be deadly...Do not give up...Keep pushing the issue with your
doc. I get leg cramps from magnesium deficiencies...but somehow I think
you have something more to investigate...Have you had vit and blood labs?
If not...GO! Get them (get copies too for your own records!) and
follow-up...

It sounds like some type of neuropathy type pain. Lyrica can be really
helpful. You definitely will need to see a specialist and get this thing
figured out. As far as the cramps in your legs at night, that can be low
potassium, restless legs, vitamin deficiency or again- neuropathy. We can
only give advice and encouragement, but in the end, it's going to take
persistence on your part and a good doctor to figure this thing out. Don't
give up and I hope you feel better.
Best of luck,

Thanks for all your answers! I had no diabetes before surgery and will
continue to go to other doctors.

I had this problem. Last year, December 27th, 2007 I had a really bad
charly horse in my right leg. It was like it went to sleep and would not
wake up. It hurt but not unbearable. I went to doctors and they said it
was called drop-foot. Nothing they could do. It would tingle at the
slightest touch and I could not pivot it at all. I had a nerve conduction
test done and they said it was from the cramp I had gotten. It had damaged
the nerve that went from the back of the knee to the top part of the foot.
The nerve specialist said it will correct itself, but can take from 6
months to 2 years. It only heals 1 mm a day. That is not alot at all.
Well I can pivot it now and have full control of it again but when I shave
or touch it a certain way it does still have some tingleling. They say not
to cross your legs because it messes with it too. At first they tried to
tell me it was lack of B12. So who knows. Wish you the best and hope it
gets better. I had probelms walking too. The guys at work would pick at
me and tell me I looked like a clydesdale horse prancing!!!!
