Question:
Losing inches and not showing on the scales?

I had my lapband on May 27, 2008. I have lost 30 pounds. I have not lost but a couple of pounds since my last fill in August although I have lost several inches because I have gone down clothing size. I am at a lost and it is great that I am losing inches but, it would be nice to see it on the scales.    — luv2smile (posted on November 13, 2008)

Well, I had the same thing. I had RNY on 10/20 and have so far lost 28 lbs. I went almost 2 weeks without losing a thing, but noticed that my clothes were getting loser and loser. I spoke with my NUT and she told me that it is normal. Your body is acting like it doesn't want to get rid off the fat. After I spoke with her I got up the next day or so and had lost about 7lbs. It was like it was over night. I would just give it time, it will come in spurts. Just watch your eating and exercise regularly. The tool works if you work the tool!! Great job so far. Ed

Hope I can help you some here. I had lapband on 5/21/08. Lost like 41 lbs up until like 6 weeks ago. After that fill, I didn't see anything move on the scale. In fact when I went to my doctor on Tuesday, it read the same thing it did six weeks prior. I was very disappointed. The pounds will eventually move. I noticed that during the month between fills, the scale never moved but my clothes just hung off me, then miraculously it moved just the day of or the day before my appt. Be patient and listen very carefully to the doctor and the nut. I'm not supposed to eat breads, pastas, and rice. But bread is difficult for me. I love bread. The past week I've avoid those all together, and guess what I've almost lost 10 lbs since my appt on Tuesday! But then again, I had a fill to. I am now filled at 6.8 cc's.

You will! It's weird the way it works and I often wonder if I knew HALF of what I know now after living with my WLS for 5-ish years, if I could have had more success keeping weight off and dieting. This is one of those things I often wonder if it was happening and I gave up before I knew that I was actually doing myself any good! You will see the numbers soon...
