Some gas will be normal. Try lying on your left side whenever you're not resting. Good luck! I'm sure it's uncomfortable....

oh...walking is the best thing for it....take it slow tho....yes... is very common....I still have gas ocassionally hon....it's because you have alot of anestisia left in your body....that's what happened to me....it just has to pass....I know it is very uncomfortable for you....it still is for me when I have it...it's all part of the journey....but you will be glad with your results....I know...I'm only 9 months out....and I've already lost 75 lbs....so...you see...it's all worth the gas...I'll be praying for you my friend....hugs to ya...Linda

I had gas really bad but coudln 't expel it. A friend of mine recommended Phayzme (sp?) and it works. I was taking Gas-X and it did nothing for me, My Dr said it was OK to take . You might want to ask your Dr about it, you can buy it over the counter

I had lapband surgery in feb and had very very bad gas. I went to the doc after 4 days and was told to take milk of mag to relieve the pressure. I felt better immediately after going to the bathroom. One tablespoon should do the trick. Of cause u should always consult with ur doc b4 taking any meds or relievers.

I haven't had WLS yet, but had a lap appendectomy a couple years ago... my intestines got paralyzed afterwards and even though I was spending 3 - 4 hours a day walking up and down the hospital halls, that stupid gas wasn't going anywhere!!! It took a good two weeks before I was back to normal... keep up the walking, stay away from narcotic pain meds (tylenol is fine), use a heating pad, and make sure you drink enough. Good luck to you.

Walk and walk and walk! Every once in a while stand in place and lift your legs like a marching solider. Gas-X helps alot also. Good Luck! Lisa

Try yogurt (low carb) or probiotics...(same ingredients in yogurt) You can get them anywhere and most work wonders...and keep things regular too! They also aid in lactose intolerance, high carbs and irritable bowel syndrome too!
