Question:
What symptoms do you have for a galdbladder to be removed?
I am 4 months post-op and I am having problems with the soreness around my naval. When I had my gastric by-pass in Jan-08 my doctor repaired my hernia partially but it aches my stomach all the time. I beleive I will have to get it repaired again. I go back to the doctor in July. Any suggestions I will appreciate. — fayfay35 (posted on May 28, 2008)

I am 56 and had mine removed when I was 27. My symptoms were: pain in my
back like a knife was being stabbed into it, sweating. I was a normal
weight then. This usually hit me really late at night and had nothing to do
with what i ate. Hope this helps.

Typical signs of gallstones may cause nausea, vomiting, right upper
quadrant pain (upper right side of the abdomen), may have fever if
infection present.

Right upper quadrant pain, sometimes with radiation of pain to the middle
of your back or left shoulder. Fatty or spicy foods can make it worse.
Nausea and vomiting can come along for the painful ride as well.
Sometimes pain around the navel area can be related to your appendix as
well.
Call your doctor and get some tests done asap.
Good luck,

Everyone has different symptoms for galbladder stones or blockage. Your
doctor first needs to check you liver counts, if they are high then you
will need an ultrasond of your gallbadder and probably a hydroscan to check
to see how the gallbadder is functioning. If the gallbadder is blocked you
will feel like you have the flu. If you are passing stones you will have
great back or/and side pain. If you think it is your galdbadder see your
doctor as soon as possible.
