I know people who had the lap band and after listening to them I feel (but
ask your Dr.) the stomach is still there and the little sugars, Fats (if
any) will still go into the stomach and absorb into your body. I had the
full gastric b/p and the sugars, Fats, Etc. (I havent had sugar in 12
Months) don't have a chance to stay in my system. Thats my thoughts on your
problem. If thats right or not I don't know. Ask the Dr.

First let me start by saying that you are doing a great job. I dont know
what your doctor has told you but my doctor has always said that 1-2lbs a
week with lap-band is healthy and, baby doll, you are averaging
2.04lbs...you should be proud of yourself. The point of having the band is
to lose it at a more moderate pace. You are doing just that. If you are
at a stand still my suggestion would be to go back and communcate with your
doctor about how you feel. He may fill you agian he may not. I am close
to 13 months out of surgery. I start at 303.5lbs and currently I am
205lbs. I lost about 15lbs my first week and have been chugging along ever
since (with 3 fills). If you crunch the numbers yourself you will see that
most people with the Band lose slowly and steady and keep it off. BUT...It
is not all about numbers and please, don't be discouraged. It is how you
feel and the changes in your life you should be proud of too! Don't be
consumed by the number game...stay positive!

Congrats to your weight loss! Just like the previous answer, we are
supposed to only averge 1-2 pds a week. What I learned in 6 months of class
was that we were to have absolutely no sugar, only sugar substitutes again
in moderation. Also what do you concider to be moderate exercise? Are you
doing at least 30-45 minutes of cardio...meaning your heart rate is
elevated for at least 30 min? and this has to be done 3-5 times a week. I
wish ya the best of luck and start feeling proud of the progress you have
made!!!

Actually you are doing great. Lap-band is geared for "normal"
weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week or 52 lbs a year. You are way ahead of the
game. I have had to have 4 fills to get that weight loss (55 lbs in 9
months, but with more fills) I sometimes have to remind myself of how well
I am doing, as it does seem slow at times.
