Question:
I am 1 month out and have only lost 30 pds. Why am I not losing any weight?
I am not hardly eating due to no appetite. I drink plenty of fluids and taking vitamins and supplements. Help? — tusr94f (posted on December 14, 2006)

30 lbs. in one month is a pound a day! You sound like you're right on
track. How much did you expect to be down at this point? Your expectations
may be a tad unrealistic...
Be patient. You're doing great!

You need to get your protein in, whether you're hungry or not. Thirty
pounds, to me, is great. The weight won't all come off at once, be patient
and enjoy the ride!! Remember the protein too.

You've lost 30 pounds in one month! That is not fast for you? This is
great. It didn't come on in a day, and it will not drop in a day. Do all
the right things and it will be fine. It took me a year to lose 120
pounds, but it was mostly 2-3 pounds a week with low eating, a lot, and I
mean a lot of exercise, and protein. It is a tool, not a miracle!
I wish you well, weigh weekly and work hard every day, you will do well!

Congratulations! In actual fact your results are atypical - you have lost
weight than most people do in a month! Have you ever been on another diet
where you lost a pound a day? Believe me, it adds up. But you will reach
plateaus now and then that are frustrating. It's just your body catching
up to your weight loss. You can lose lose lose and then nothing for a few
weeks, then you lose lose lose again. Don't panic! This is completely
normal. Just make sure you get in all your protein and supplements now so
you don't have to deal with hypertrophy and regain down the road. :)

I think you are doing wonderful. I lost 20 pounds the first month and
111.5 pounds by 8 months. I am very happy with my results. Julia

Angela, congrats on your surgery. You need to get in protein whether you
are hungry or not. Not only are you slowing your weight loss down, you are
setting yourself up for an ulcer as well. You need to get at least
60-80grms of protein in a day for muscle building, etc. Also you don't
indicate whether you are exercising or not. You need to do this as
well.... You do these things, and I think that you will see your weight
loss pick up.

OMg - thirty pounds the first month is a lot! It took me two months to
lose that much, and I could not eat at all! You are doing great!

UHMMM, .LETS SEE, 30 DAYS = 30 LBS GONE. THATS GREAT! YOU CAN ONLY HOPE TO
BE THAT LUCKY THROUGHOUT THE REST OF YOUR JOURNEY. JUST IMAGINE 60 DAYS 60
LBS. 90 DAYS 90 LBS. 120 DAYS 120 LBS GONE. STILL THINK IN 4 MONTHS LOSING

Angela... I am 2 weeks out. Don't worry...you are doing great! I think
the key is to focus on other things rather than weight, it will come off.
My surgeon told me that at 6 weeks, you should expect to lose 20-25% of
your excess weight. How much do you have to lose total?

I am 14 days out and have lost 16 lbs...I would be so happy if I lost a
total of 30lbs the first month...my fear is for my weight to drop so quick
and for my hair to fall out or my skin not to catch up to the weight
loss...I think you're doing wonderful!!! what did you expect to lose the
first month? keep up the protein and vitamins...good luck!!!

PLEASE, dont be discouraged. Your doing great! Thats 30 you dont have to
carry with you anymore, you will loose more intime, take it easy , do what
you can, Plateaus are a bummer, but its natural, your body has to catch up,
think of that. And all the loose skin you will have, You didnt loose the
weight over night, so its not going to shrink over nite either. Give it all
time and relax/mentally, or you can work yourself up for something that
realliy isnt necessary.....Good-luck
