DS is a the third type of surgery that is done for obesity, it is more
complex ,often mis under stood, and is difficult to get because it is more
costly, less doctors are capable of doing it.and less insurers willing to
pay for it, while it is proven to be superior in performance. visit the ds
forum and ask the question, I cannont have the rny,it conflict with my
comorbids, thats how I learned of the DS,and now I would pay for it even if
I got rnys for free, which I have three insurers that would pay for them,

DS is an abbreviation for bilipancreatic diversion with duodenal switch
(BPD/DS) - quite a mouthful, huh?!
