Doesn't your doctor have a follow-up program? I know my surgeon has a 5 year follow-up program. He/she should be telling you want you need....ask

the previous poster is right, after each dr. visit. my dr. gave me a lab slip with 20 tests on it, he circles what he wants tested, early on it was all 20, as the months passed, the list got smaller and smaller.. but you need to call your dr and get it straightened out right away.. i go to my local hospital blood lab to save me from driving to my doctor's hospital, it save a 30 mile one way drive.. then they fax the results to my doctor's office and he calls me if anything is out of wack,,so far nothing has been..good luck..

Definately your physician should give you what needs to be checked. Then you can have your family doc do the yearly blood work. Iron profile, prealbumin, CBC and B12. First year every six mths then annually unless you start not feeling well. This was my physician's orders.
