Question:
Has anyone had WLS that is on a insulin pump?

I have type 1 diabetes and have been on a insulin pump for 3 years. I would like to know how this surgery has effected your insulin usage and the pump.    — lynne3566 (posted on November 16, 2002)

I have Type 1 diabetes and had my surgery 6 months ago. I had complications (not related to my diabetes), but am now on the mend. I do not use a pump, but my insulin needs have decreased. The best advice I can give you is to make sure your surgeon and endocrinologist are both involved in both your pre-op and post-op care. With close monitoring from both, you should do just fine.
