Question:
Has anyone who was infertile had a baby after WLS?

I was wondering if anone who has fertility isses had a baby after wls? I have always had irregular periods. I have endometeosis, cyst on the overies. My gyn said I need to lose weight. I am hoping someone has had a baby after being told to lose weight.    — Yvonne C. (posted on February 7, 2002)

This is well documented here and a BIG reason many have surgery. The weight messes with hormones, and prevents pregnancy. The BIG loss lets those hormone levels return to normal. Me and Jen HOPE this alows us to have a baby.

Sounds like you have many of the same problems I do. I was Dx'd with Poloycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) 2 years ago and was told that if I wanted a baby -- loosing weight would be my only chance. Check out http://www.soulcysters.com there is loads of information there. There are loads of stories of women that lost the weight and turned up preggers!!! Its a great site.
