I've lost 55 pounds pre op and already feel like a deflated ziplock, so yes, yes, and yes!! I'm thinking once goal is met, skin removal is the final step! What about you?

I have lost over 130 lbs and will be having my stomach and thighs done. I have to wait till May due to work and a big Easter Egg hunt I do every year. Understand that most insurances do not pay for this. Some hospitals have a package deal. The hospital I will be going to will be under $4000 and the Dr. charges $1500 for the stomach and $1000 for each thigh. It doesn't cost as much as I thought it was going to. It's like a bought a car without any extras and I want power windows and cruise control. Each person is different and this may be okay for me but not someone else. Good luck.

I had gastric bypass in January of 2010..... in December of 2010 I had tummy tuck and mastopexy (with augmentation)........ I'm sooooo glad I did it. After losing 137 lbs.. I was like a droopy bag of skin...... now I feel much younger and more comfortable with my skin. The only warning i'll give you (ok maybe two) are the scarring can be pretty extensive (you truly have to be prepared for that as I've developed hypertrophic scarring that is very sore and i'm now getting injections (ouch) for... but also that once the skin is removed you'll notice more things that need "work"... (and it's not vanity) but for example, my pubis mound (or something close to that term) is enormous... Now i'll have to have something done about it at some point because it actually sticks out further than my stomach but also droops.. u can see it in tight fitting pants.. YUCK.......... anyway.. it's still better than the stomach sagging down.... but just makes me focus on having something else done for ME ! Best of luck !

I am not, I have lost over 120 pounds in ten months but since I exercise, I don't have real sagging skin, so I am just going to continue to exercise while losing the other 20 pounds to reach goal weight. I would like a boob job, but good bras are wonderful...so will probably not do anything since I am 53 years old

It's an individual decision. I lost 136 pounds 4 years ago. I do have droopy stomach but I figured I'm 63 years old and the chance to hook up with George Clooney is remote at best so why put myself through expense and pain.

Hello Carla I had gastric bypass Sept 2005. I've lost 140lbs. I exercised..walking/running, weight training, yoga and pilates. In Dec. 2010 I had T.T. and a thighplasty. I'm sooooo glad I did:-) I had complications with my left thigh..hemotoma/seroma but now I'm fine. I think I'll have my breast lifted and small implants and maybe arms not sure yet. I feel so much better no more rashes and no more wrinkled sagging skin. It's done wonders for my self-esteem. If you decide to have plastics make sure you go to a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!! Rox

i plan on some after i hit goal. I know some ins *have to check yours* depending on the size of you pre-op weight, the amount of skin you have, and if you start getting terrible rashes and skin issue will help with some of it..cause then it is not something you want to look better you need it for your health. sometimes I wish I lived in the land of plastic surgery like Brazil...where I heard on a news channel they encourage plastic surgery...

I am having a paniculectomy and breast reduction 3/30. I had lap band & have lost 113 lbs. I now have tingly thigh and recurrent yeast infections so insurance has approved & is paying their share. I hope to also get thighs/labia done as I get recurrent yeast rashes there as well but medically it is too risky to get all 3 done at the same time. I can think of noreason medically for the upper arms so I guess I will have to live with the bat wings. I have heard and anticipate that it is a very painful surgery D/T all te manipulation. Tummy tuck is not as severe or as bad, but my panny is too big for that.

I'm working on getting a general surgeon (to work on 3 hernias) and a plastic surgeon to do a pannicotomy(?) at the same time. I've lost 178.4 lbs and am really short (5'1"), so my excess skin is really noticable in my pelvic and thigh area. It's also causing medical problems (skin irriations, rashes, yeast infections, stress on my intestines-a factor in the hernias). I couldn't excercise due to extensive medical problems.

Absolutely, YES! You will feel so much better and you will be able to move more freely. Everything about it is great, except the surgery, you will have some discomfort for about 2 weeks, but after that, YAHOO! I did the tummy tuck and will be doing the boob job later this year. I cannot wait to have these pancakes removed and be perky again! Good Luck! Just do it if the insurance will pay!

I am 5 months out from a Gastric Bypass and have lost 84 lbs so far. I understand all the loose skin and for myself I would love to remove the skin once I get to my goal weight... it is almost like a present at the end of the struggle. I am not sure how I will pay for it cuz my husband would hit the roof, but all of this was about "me" and I would be doing it for "me". We all deserve a gift!

LOLOL .. I'm with Muggs.... I've lost 140 pounds, and yeah, I have a droopy tummy, and bat wings, and for some ungodly reason, my knees have stayed "fat" while my calves have decreased in size significantly! But.... I am happily partnered, and not looking to impress anyone of the opposite sex, and although it would be nice to have a tight, young-looking body again... heck, I'm going to be 58 years old in two months! Why go through the discomfort and the expense. I've got some really high quality bras, some "Flexees" panties from Costco (and a comfortable medium-weight "girdle" to wear with my dresses), and I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do with my money, like travel, buy supplies for my beading business, and keep myself in my MBTs (special shoes which are REALLY expensive!).

Heck yes! If you can, then do it! Two years after my RNY surgery, I had a tummy tuck, breast life, and I had an incisional hernia repaired. While they had me "under & open" I wanted the rest. Only thing that was a draw back was I could not take a shower or bath for 6 weeks; and did bathroom jobs through a slit in the girdle...yes #1 & #2. I am glad I got it done. GO FOR IT!
