No. It's way too high in sugar, and there may be a problem with acidity as
well.

Orange juice is the only thing that has made me sick. It is far too
acidic.

I had surgery almost 2 years ago and I've tried OJ several times. The acid
in OJ hurts my stomach even when I dilute it.

My NUT and Dr. said no juice ever, too many calories and sugar.

I am 9 months out from RNY. If I get the taste for fruit juice, I add about
one teaspoon to a glass of water. As diluted as it is, it somehow satisfies
my craving. You might try that. Remember this life change is about
"out with the old and in with the new".

I was told not to drink or eat anything with more than 14g of sugar in one
serving. I you look in the back of the orange juice bottle, you'll see how
many sugars and calories it can have. I was craving fruits too and fruit
juices, more like apple juice...so I found the Motts Light Apple juice has
14g of sugars and not so many calories...maybe you could find a orange
juice like it? I also don't know about that acidity? I seem to be ok with
the apple juice...Good Luck...

Three weeks out is too soon. I am four months out. I drink the orange
juice that has the sugar reduced by 50%. Then I mix it with diet iced tea.
I think it is wonderful. The acid isn't a problem. The reduced sugar
orange juice is 10 grams of sugar per serving. You might be okay without
the iced tea.

My nutritionist said I could have apple, grape, or cranberry juice. 100%
juice. But no more than 4 ounces a day. I'm 7 weeks out and haven't tried
OJ but I plan too. Just remember everyone is different. What didn't work
for someone could work for you. =D Happy Drinking

Maybe you could try an acid reducer as well. My surgeon told me to take
them for a minimum of 6 mo.

I sometimes have the Trop 50 to wash down a protein shot in the morning,
but I only have a "glug". There is still lots of sugar in it - I
love the idea of mixing the Trop 50 w/ Iced Tea (I am an IT junkie).
Everyone is different, I would try dilluted first and then see how you do.
Sometimes I get really low blood sugar an a sip of the Trop 50 helps that
too. I haven't had any issues w/ acid, though. I had terrible Acid
reflux/GERD prior to surgery, but the last time I had any acid issues was
May 13, 2009. But that's just me...good luck!

I had surgery long ago when we ate our protein right away...I ate chicken
and other pureed meats right after RNY surgery...but I was NOT allowed
fresh fruit or veggies including juices for at least 3 mos...I was a juicer
before surgery so this was sooooo hard for me...So I asked a lot of
questions...OJ is too acidic, fiberous (with any pulp), too high in sugar
and the enzymes in fruits that are not cooked are too strong for your new
surgery! I was allowed nsa applesauce and nsa fruit preserves only, for
the first 3 mos...I find it shocking that so many will freak out at the
thought of eating meat right after surgery but will approve of fruit and
juices! Just an observation, no judgement! Another thing to remember...one
of the easiest ways to cut calories is to NOT DRINK them! And it's also a
good lifestyle change to make early. Just a suggestion. And again...No
judgement here! I'm 6 year PO and OJ kills my pouch still and will double
me over in extreme sugar dumping pain...But I can eat an entire orange...Go
figure
