Question:
4 months post op lap band - Lean Cusine OK?
Hi All, Just curious - I am almost 4 months post op (lap band) and have lost 77 pounds to this point. I've been sticking with the plan of my nut's and surgeon but am just curious to see if people are eating lean cuisines or if we should stay away from them... I haven't asked my nut but i will when i go back. What are other people eating at this point. Thank you. — Lisa B. (posted on January 3, 2010)

I had the RNY 5 months ago and my nut said Lean cuisines and others are ok
once in awhile. Fresh is best but you do what you have to when you work 12
to 16 hour days and are lucky to get your liquids in. She says it beats
fast food hands down. Ask your nut.

First, congrats on your wonderful weight loss! Processed foods are usually
high in sodium, but once in a while is ok. More important is small bites
and chewing well. Keep up the great work!

My surgeon wants us to stay away from foods like that because he said it is
falling back into the "fast food" mentality. I do admit I have
one once in a great while. I am 3 years post op. By the way, don't tell my
surgeon what I told you!

Honestly? The first year your lucky to be able to eat anything. Eat what
you can tolerate just make sure not to over eat. Eat slow chew well and eat
6 small meals a day. Try to make good choices but don't worry if you don't.
The weight is coming off either way your not gonna fail this time. But you
can fail down the road. So watch what you eat, but make sure you eat as the
surgery works best when you eat!
