It is just part of the process. It happens to nearly everyone. Nixon shampoo and conditioner will help some. It will stop, It is hard to tell exactly when. Once it does it tends to fill back in. Also take the vitamin Biotin. It helps with skin, hair and nails.

It should stop anytime now...It's very common and does grow back...I'm sure there might be exceptions that don't grow theirs back, but that's not very common...Since you are almost due for yearly labs, you might go in a little early and have all vitamin labs checked along with the basic labs including thyroid! Look closely (EXAMINE) your forehead hair line and see if you can see any new growth where you have receding lines...If you see fine short hairs, you know it's on it's way to coming back! That's when I realized it was almost over! I too lost an alarming amount of hair...I have long hair and I could see my entire scalp in the mirror! It all grew back so healthy and thick and even a much nicer texture and curl as well! Before it was wavy and wiry, and now it is soft, shiny and silky but very curly rather than wavy! It is quite scary...I began losing hair again and went in for labs to find I was hypothyroid again after being fine for 5 years with no meds...I'm back on meds and my hair loss stopped again...So it can be anything not only protin intake...

I am about 16 months post surgery and my hair is still noticibly thinner. I attribute this to probably not getting enough protein. I lost 85lbs total and I'm now trying to go back to basics and eat more protein. Labs say I'm getting enough protein, but my hair is still falling out. I'm considering going to the hair dresser and getting someone to take care of my hair, since I normally wear a wig. I was also told by my nutritionist to take coromega which you can find on Amazon. They have a good price cheaper than the vitamin store and if you sign up for the super saver shopper, you can get it at 16.99 box compared to 35 at the store and 20 on the internet. Good luck, feeling your pain, it's upsetting to comb your hair and see hair fall out. Anyway this is my solution, and by the way, I take 2 coromega a day, since 1 is for people who have not had bypass surgery and it's omega 3 and it's delicious, especially the orange flavor. Hope this is helpful for you.
