Question:
Getting Married!!!!!!!! Question for the ladies
I am getting married 03/28/09 and when setting the date I didn't realize that I am suppose to start my period that same day. Do have any suggestios on how I can get my period to come earlier or later. I went to my Dr. and she stated that birth control pills is not an option because of the swelling in my legs and risk for blood clots. Please help!!!!!!!!!!! — lajean77 (posted on February 13, 2009)

Congratulations on your coming marriage! What works? From personal
experience? Abstinence. Yeah, that is really going to work on a
honeymoon. I know. 9 months and 6 days later, I had my 1st born. I may
be out-of-step though, because my 1st born is now 50+ but, I remember my
feelings very well at that time. My prayers for a very successful marriage
be with you! Blessings, Christine Gibson, MS, MA, OH Coach, Support Group

Congratulations! I have to tell you, I scheduled my wedding around mine.
And I hate to break it to you but it didn't matter. That month before the
wedding is so stressful getting everything done, I started the day of my
wedding. Maybe you will get lucky and be a little late. I wish I could
tell you really good news but this is just one of those mother nature
answers. May you have many happy years together. And no matter what...it
will all work out!

I agree with the last poster and hate to be the bearer of bad news but
there is nothing you can do to prevent your period from coming. I'm sure
that your hubby-to-be will be understanding of the situation... You should
tell him about the dilema. You may be surprised at what his reply is!! (A
lot of men don't mind having sex during a period...)

I'm just thinking that this may seem like a huge inconvenience or hassle
during your wedding...but you have the rest of your life for sex...and if
you've already been intimate...there's nothing new there...so just the
inconvenience of a period at your wedding is really just something small
you're sweating over. I know one thing...my husband and I were so
exhausted the night of our wedding...sex was the last thing on our minds.
We just wanted the whole thing over and done so we could get our lives
started together. Just be well prepared...double up if you need to...and
go to the bathroom as often as you can. Let your personal attendant know
the situation...or your closest family or friend ...so they can help you
with your dress if that's an issue...in the bathroom that is. I recall
that being the biggest issue for potty breaks...getting around all the
fluff with the dress! Best wishes...and congrats.

For some reason I thought you were going to ask a question about making
sure your dress fit becasue you were losing inches so fast. lol It's been
a long time but I use to have a diaphram for my birth control method. It
also doubled as a way for me to have sex during my period. Ask the doctor
about fitting you for one. It was good for like a one shot deal because it
would stop the flow. Douche, take long hot showers and you should be
alright. Good Luck and Best Wishes. If your wedding is in the NY Area and
you need a singer, I can sing "At Last" just as good as Beyonce.

I also want to congratulate you on your upcoming nuptials. Like some of
the oterhs, I got married in September of 07 on the day between my birthday
and my husband's. What do you think I got for a birthday present??? Yep,
you guessed it! It was an inconvenience but not the end of the world. We
just waited a few days for things to calm down while we were on our
honeymoon. As others said, you've got the rest of your life and if you've
already been intimate then he may well be ok with a little mess. Another
thing, since your doctor doesn't want you on the pill, how would he (and
you) feel about Depo shots? I know when I got mine it pretty much stopped
my period for months and I LOVED it! Maybe it's something you could get in
and discuss asap.
Whatever you decided and however it turns out I wish you the best of luck.
Oh and by the way I had to smile at the poster who is offering to sing At
Last. That is what I came down the aisle to. Awesome song!!! Best of
luck to you!!

Congratulations on your marriage! Are you on birth control? As a
youngster on the pill, I use to just start the next pack instead of waiting
the week. Recently I didn't wait on the week out for the nuva ring, and I
inserted a new one. These measures prevent you from having a period, or at
least will decrease it to a light spotting. If you have any questions
consult your GYN doctor. Good luck.

Conradulations on your upcoming wedding. I had my period 2 weeks before my
wedding. Because of the stress of the planning the ceramony, I still got
my period 3 days into my honeymoon. Now I have a permenant souviner of
Disney World. Since I never got pregnant again, it was all for the best.

Ask your OB. When we went to Hawaii I said that I wanted something to
stop my menstrual cycle and they perscribed something and it worked. I
can't find it now, so I don't know the name. But ask!

Congratualations and by the way you are getting married on my anniversary.
My husband and I will be celebrating 11 blessed years of marriage. And
unknowingly we got married on an old friend of mines anniversary and they
are still happily married. I hope this date works as well for you as it has
for us. I know the nuva ring does not have as high of an occurance of blood
clots and is saffer I wonder if that would be an option. Also pray that God
bless you with a postponed period. It never hurts and often helps. God
bless you both and I truly hope your special day (and ours) is blessed.
