Question:
surgery 12/5 7:45 update

I have been blessed I have not had any pain and no gas what so ever..........the only thing I can say I did was I took Citrate Magnesia the day before and I stuck to the liquid diet as best as I could I had a pack of peanut butter crackers and a bag popcorn during that week no crazy eating...........so I was thinking maybe I did not have gas because I cleansed the day before that may be the key to no gas pain I don't know but it sounds good...........I go see my doctor on 12/11 more to come    — sawwas (posted on December 7, 2008)

That is great news. I never had gas postop. But I started to get it about 1 month after surgery and it is real stinky. I had to take flagel and I watch my carbs. So my gas is 95 % better. Congrads your on the losers bench

I think the gas people have most trouble is not in the plumbing itself...but in the abdomen where the surgery took place...Co2 is pumped into into the abdomen to preform laproscopic surgery...They insert a drain to help , but walking is about all you can do to help it drain faster...Some get nausea and a lot of pain from gas that gets trapped here and there...I think that is the gas that most refer to just after surgery...Most surgeons also prefer you stay at the hospital until you actually pass the OTHER kind of gas so they know that all the plumbing is all hooked up right! LOL That too can be painful for the first few times as it is all new surgery...But I think most have trouble with the CO2 gas....

Congratulations! The only gas I experienced was right after surgery from them blowing my insides up w/ Co2!! It hurt into my chest wall and up into my shoulders. I'm so glad it only lasted a day cuz it really was painful! Have a wonderful Christmas season!

Congrats on your long journey to better health, smaller clothes and a better you. I had lapband 4/28, post op 35 pounds and counting. Best decision I have made.
