When do you see your dr again? If it's intolerably tender, call him just
to make sure everything's OK. Did you have open surgery or laproscopic?
Laproscopic can differ from surgery to surgery or person to person...I've
had three laproscopics...one to remove my gall bladder 13 years ago, one to
do the RNY, and one to remove a kidney...I've also had open surgery for a
fibroid and surgery on my back for scoliosis...and the kidney laproscopic
was by far the most painful one I've had...even though my back surgery left
a scar about 18 inches long down my spine and another one about 8 inches
long across my hip....and was pretty major. The kidney one felt like a
fire inside and out. It's been a year from that one and I still
occasionally have a 'pulling' burning feeling at one of the scars from it.
Make sure you're drinking water and protein drinks...don't do heavy lifting
and just rest your body. The surgery's a pretty major invasion of your
body and your body needs time to rest and recover. Keep us posted how
you're doing, and if it gets worse, call your dr. Did he tell you if you
could take Tylenol or anything for pain?

I would like some more information as the previous author. What kind of
surgery did you have and was it open or done laparoscopically? Is there
redness and swelling or heat at the site that is sore? Do you have a
fever?
Either way, I would recommend calling your surgeon asap!
Feel better soon,

Do you still have your drain tubes in? Mine caused me a lot of pain that
ended as soon as they were pulled out.

It's pretty much normal, unless you begin to feel worse and worse, I'd just
say take it easy...you might be trying to do too much too fast! Call you
doc if it gets worse, okay? Otherwise you can crush a tylenol to help
withthe pain for now!
