Question:
6 weeks out and vomiting a lot
I'm six weeks out today from my lap rny and throwing up about everything I eat. I'm constantly making adjustments hoping it will get better. I chew chew chew and it still seems to get me. Most of the time I'm either eating refried beans or eggs 2 ounces. Dairy doesn't bother me. Is this normal? I don't want to bother my surgeon if this is something "we all just go through" but I tell ya, I'm feeling pretty crappy! lol — pixiegirl27 (posted on May 9, 2008)

It is not normal to be throwing up everything. Although there is a normal
adjustment period, where we might get a little uncomfortable because we
took too large a bite or didn't control our portion well enough, constant
vomitting is not part of the adjustment. And, it can be very dangerous.
You should see your surgeon as soon as possible.

I would call your surgeon, but that said, I had to stay on puree foods for
8 weeks because I could not tolorate anything that would upset my insisions
with my RNY. My sergeon said because I was a est of success to you.

Please call your Surgeon immediately! You may have a stricture. I was 4
weeks out and couldn't keep anything down for almost a week. I got very
dehydrated and they almost admitted me to hosp. I was hardheaded and didn't
want to bother Dr. They did an Upper GI and used a balloon to open the
opening to my pouch. I am now almost 6 mths out and 85 lbs gone, forever.
Please don't wait. Call you surgeon. Let us know how you are doing.
