Question:
Haw anyone tried the chewable birth control pills
I just start taking the chewable birth control pills yesterday. I've been on the patch, but I came off that b/c it was causing me to have two long periods a month and they were heavy. I did fine with the regular birth control pills. I was wondering if there is anyone else thats on the chewable pills and how they like it. Thanks. — barfiep01 (posted on February 25, 2008)

I started them yesterday. They are chewable. Thats why my doctor put me
on these pills. She said they are new. They taste like mint. When I get
home, I will give you the name of the pills. Patricia

Femcon... I have been on them for 3 months and i love them!!!!!! They taste
great and I don't have to worry about needing water to take them. I can
take them anywhere. The only downer is the 6 day period. I would have
preferred a pill with like a 3 day period like Yaz... DONT CHEW THE PLACEBO
PILLS!!!!!! They taste horrific!!!!!

I was on the Ovcon chewables only because my GYN thought I had issues with
taking pills, I do not. At one of my appointment I mentioned this and she
told me I could chew or swallow them. If I were you I would call you talk
to your pharmacist AND your doctor and see what they think. Perhaps you
may want to call your WLS surgeon's office for their imput also.

I have a question, do you HAVE to switch birth control pills? I love mine,
I take Yazmin and hardly get a period at all plus it helps with my mood and
sweating at night. I just changed to these last year because I was having
sweats and HORRIBLE mood swings around period time, I would hate to go back
to THAT!

Before I had my surgery, my doctor told me I had to choose a birth control
like the depo shot or the patch for the first 2 years. The reason why is
you might not absorb pills the first 2 years. I did the depo shot just for
a few months b/c the longer you do the depo the more risk you have losing
bone mass. I then started the patch. Every since I been on the patch I
was having long heavy periods twice a month. So my new gynecologist switch
me to chewable birth control pills. I just started this Sunday and thats
why I was asking if anybody else has tried it and how they like it. I do
miss my oral birth control. I didn't have no problems with them.
