Question:
Does anybody in Philadelphia really do the Duodenal Switch?
I already called two hospitals, and still waiting for them to call back, so in the meantime, is their anybody who knows for sure if there are surgeons in the city of Philadelphia that currently does the surgery? — Ray8719 (posted on January 30, 2008)

Hi, I am not sure in the city who does it, not many are as set up as the
Barix clinic in Langhorne, they do it and Dr. F. Bonnini at Abington
Memorial Hospital in Abington. I know from experience that he is very good,
the main hospital number is 215-481-2000 and just ask for his number from
there. Hope that helps, neither is more than a 15-20 minute ride from the
city and worth the trip. My sister had hers with Dr. Boninni and I had mine
at Barix with Dr. Brader who is now in Lancaster. We are both at goal now.
Best of luck to you.

Ray,
I went Abbington Hospital and Dr. Bonanni offer the Duodenal switch to me,
so I know he does the surgery. I didn't go with that but I heard of others
from his office who had it done and love the results. This hospital was
great and so is Dr B and Manny. I can't say enough about this hospital and
Dr B. Good luck!
