STOP RELAX ITS NORMAL! I remember once gaing 8 pounds overnite, then it
went away:) Its what you ate, water weight etc. Now before you start
stressing record your neck and other dimensions cause one day you will
plateau too. During plateaus you will see your biggest dimension loses.

Hi Kim,
I am having the same down feelings you are experiencing and don't want any
new food after just two weeks. I went to my surgeon today and he tells me
that this is the lowest we are going to feel. I have a had time eating all
they want me to. I am doing OK with the water, using Crystal Light like
you, and I love Skim Mill now with Unjury Shake.
My regular Doctor gave me a prescription for an anti-depressant because I
am a guy that is never down. My surgeon says it is just my weight loss with
the stress of surgery. I watched the Notebook on TV and go upset last
weekend. I get depressed easily and what to just stay in bed. I am not
tired, in fact when I get up I go for walks which I never did before. Stay
away from the news and just get some friends to cheer you up. That seems
to work for me. Also let them know you are feeling depressed and need
there support. I wish you all the best. 30 Lbs is great. You have me beat
and I had a RNY.

Completely normal! Although if I were to gain weight I'd freak 100 times
worse than you are right now! Ugh...but your stomach still being poofey is
very normal. Remember you just had MAJOR surgery and the gas that they
pumped you up with, your body is still trying to get rid of it. It's a
long slow process. Shortly after the 1st month you will wake up and
realize you need to alter your clothes because your swelling totally
disappeared! Hang in there...it does get better...Merry Christmas, good
luck, God bless and welcome to the losing side!

make certain your getting your water in, wierdly dehydration causes fluid
retention and thus weight gain..........

Hi Kim! I also had lap RNY on 11/26/07, we are on the last legs of our
first month. I have lost about 32 lbs since surgery. I have been frustrated
because I check the scale every morning and evening and it is wierd because
for 2-3 days it was 325 in the morning and 327 in the evening. Then all of
a sudden, it was 322 today. So I decided I am not going to get on the scale
everyday - I will start getting on once a week. That way the loss will be
more significant and I won't notice the little back and forth's. I've
finally got my protein up to where it needs to be and am drinking diluted
crystal lite to get my water up there. I know gaining a few here and there
is completely normal and if you don't check the scale everyday you may not
even notice that gain. Good luck, we're all in this together!! Congrats on
the 30 lbs, more will come off soon!! I'm waiting for the day I can say my
clothes are too big to wear - they are fitting better but not loose yet.
Yay US!!!

Congrats! on your new life. I'm 8 months out and did freak like you when I
saw my scale go the wrong way. You might also need to make sure you are
getting some type of fiber. If you haven't had a BM, you will not loose
much because your not having a BM. God Bless, Vanessa

There are a variety of things that will make your weight go up and down
like that.... hydration, water retention due to your cycle, bowel
movements, how much you've eaten that day, etc. Also, if you are using one
of those step on scales (as opposed to one with sliding weights like at the
doctor's office), they can very easily become unbalanced. Don't stress too
much, it sounds like you are doing wonderfully!
You might want to ditch the scale and buy yourself a sewing measuring
tape... you will most likely see a more consistent loss if you evaluate
based on inches lost.
Best wishes.

Kim, I also had surgery on 11/26/07 (RNY) so it is good to see someone at
the same part I am at. Hang in there! I think you are probably watching the
scales too closely. I do the same thing and become a little obsessive about
it. I have been very depressed and down since surgery. I think we just have
to tough it out and do what we are supposed to and the end results will
make us much healthier and happier people.
