You don't mention the type of surgery you had. I had an MGB and was
freaked when one of my incisions reopened and shot out a stream of pink
water about one week after surgery. My incisions are still in the soft
stages of healing at almost one month post surgery.
Hope that helps.

I had a RNY, my Surgeon left my drain in for 6 days then removed it. I had
very little to none (drainage) by the 6th day. Also my drainage was
yellowish in color, that is completely normal. If you have any doubts that
you are producing to much, I would call your Dr.'s office and ask the
nurse. :O) Good Luck!

came home, I have not had any drainage since. Hope this helps.

Hi Judy, you give a loaded question without much information. I would call
AND visit my surgeon right away. Drainage from a drain tube can be for a
week or two for some, mine was out before I left the hospital at 4 days.
Bleeding? See your doctor right away, I don't think any amount of bleeding
is normal after leaving the hospital, not even with an open surgery for
wls. Please call them right away. Patricia P.

HI,
I HAD A DRAIN IN TILL MY FIRST DOCTOR VISIT, AFTER I CAME HOME
FROM SURGERY. I HAD A FULL DRAIN WHEN I MOVED AROUND ALOT AND LESS DRAINAGE
WHEN I RESTED. EVERYONE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT AND THE DRAIN HELPS PROTECT
AGENST INFECTION. ANNA

hospital.

I had RNY lap in Sept of 2006. I had a drain tube for about 10 days or so.
The drainage was initially slightly pink in color and moved to yellow in
time. I had more in my drain tube when I was more active. If it is pink
in color I wouldn't worry too much. If it is red - then call your doctor.

I had lap rny, Sept 25, 07. I had my drain tube for 9 days after the
surgery. The whole time it filled thru-out the day, and the liquid was
always reddish pink.
