Has anyone had vsg surgery in TX Dr. Frezza self pay?

Hi Tammra. Costs vary from place to place, so you need to ask your doctors office about this. RNY at a hospital here in Nebraska would be about $33,000, a lap band about $22,000. The surgery you are wanting would probably be about the same as RNY in cost, or close to it. Only your doctor can help you there. Just now that if you are not approved, you can appeal, sometimes that will help and get you approved. Sometimes it is in stone with your insurance carrier, and they won't budge. Just don't give up without exhausing all appeals. Best to you. Patricia P
