my doctor and dietitian had us on 300-400 calories per day- in fact I am 5
mo out and rarely eat more than 500-600 calories per day.

You shouldnt be counting calories at this point but grams of protein. You
should always ask your doctor questions like this and find out his/her
individual thoughts as each one is different.

i agree with alisa. on week 3 i was eating 1oz meals and following the list
my doc. gave me. Worry about your protien intake rather then your calorie
intake at this point.

I'm not sure what your doctor has told you, but that is the phase I am in,
and my nutritionist/nurse pratictioner never gave us a caloric intake to
follow, just stated that we really shouldn't be eating more than 1 oz. of
the pureed or soft foods every 2 hours, and to be drinking in between that.
I know I have to still have to drink 1 or 2 protein shakes a day to get my
minimum protein of 65 grams, but I make sure and eat every 2 hours still.
Hope that helps.

Don't concentrate as much on calorie content as on protein and
supplemention - that is going to keep you from having your hair fall out
and all that hypertrophy talk I keep yammering about. Chances are you
won't be able to get enough in to overeat at this point anyways. Just
don't drink full sugar pops or eat things high in sugar and fat and you'll
be fine.

My doctor had me counting grams of protein and watching the carbs and sugar
at this point (still does,).
