I had a stomach stapling procedure done 16 yrs. ago and lost a total of
20lbs.(mesh band) It was open surgery. Have checked into the roux n y but
my surgeon said the risks would be much higher than average due to the
previous stomach stapling. I didn't like the odds of the average RNY
surgery 1 in 200 die ....so I'm scared to have the surgery. I guess I want
a promise that I won't die ya know? And no doctor can give me that.

Do you have mechanical failure? I did at 5 yrs and revised then. Didn't
change surgery types, as it was working, but it broke. I know MANY who
have revised, either because their surgery was brokenn or because it wasn't
working for them. I'd recommend the Grad list to speak to several who have
revised. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG
