You need to call your doctor right away. It could be your gallbladder (if
it's still in), but it could also be something very serious, like a bowel
obstruction. Don't delay -- call now. If you can't get in touch with your
surgeon, go to the ER. Not to scare you -- hopefully it IS just gas -- but
you don't want to take any chances.

Deborah, just like the previous posters mentioned- call your doctor in
case. If you do find out there's nothing wrong and its just gas, Milk of
Magnesia can help you out alot. Also, make sure you're walking alot. Not
only does walking every hour help prevent blood clots, but it also relieves
the horrible gas pains from surgery. You'd never think trapped gas could be
so excruciating! Goodluck to you and hope u feel better!

Of course you should call the doctor...but I will tell you that from week 1
to week 3 i had a very bad pain on the right side of my body...i described
it as a bone out of place...it wasn't muscle pain and it wasn't a dull pain
like I would get if I had a gallbladder attack or had constipation...it was
just an annoying pain that hurt worse when I took a breath in, unless I was
sitting a certain way. It went away after about week 3 and I haven't had
any problems since.

I to had pain on my right side after my surgery. Called the doc and did all
kinds of tests and then they did a ct scan and I had a blockage. so they
put a g tube back in. Problem solved for a bout a week then the pain came
back and felt like my chest was really gasy felt almost like a heart
attack. Took one final test to determine that I had an ulcer. Doc put me on
protonix and problem solved. So please call your doc.
