I was over 400 lbs. before my surgery, and I made it through with flying colors. Of course, I had the surgery when I was 28, so I'm sure my youth and lack of disease helped.

Check out some of the profiles on this site - Kirk Thompson (known as Crow in the Chat room) from West Virginia had his surgery in October and is doing well. He started at a higher weight than yours. If you go to his personal web page, he has a recent picture showing his loss since surgery (over 100 pounds already!).
