Question:
Has anyone experienced frequent headaches post-op?

I have been getting headaches every afternoon since my 2nd post-op week (now 4wks out). I have considered the usual- I check my BP (normal),have tried eating protein and drinking water at the onset of headache but nothing seems to help. Headaches are not relieved by tylenol either. I have been off of caffiene for 3 months now. I have treid taking my morning meds at different times without any effect-- so I am stumped. The headaches do eventually go away by bedtime despite whatever the cause. Otherwise I am down 40lbs and 13 inches! Any suggestions???    — MELISSA M. (posted on October 21, 2001)

I've hardly had a headache since 1989 but after the RNY I've had more headaches than I can count. I think they lasted around 3 months. I was told I could'nt use asprin so I had to use acedimine. (I know that is spelled wrong). But the headaches did go away finally. I don't know what it is about the Bypass but others on this site have complained of the same problem.

I got the headaches also. I thought they were withdrawls from the pain meds.? I tended to blame a lot on that and the anisthetic. I got headaches from my synthroid not being the right dose. I had a hard time getting the synthroid right that whole first year I guess the dose is in part based on body weight as well as the blood levels.
