Question:
any one just had lose skin removed with out tummy tuck
My insurance will only cover lose skin removed after weightloss not a complete tummy tuck. Has anyone else had that done and how good does it look after the surgery/ — pandavenise (posted on May 21, 2010)

I am afraid I can not answer your question directly, however, if your
financial situation allows, surgeons will often make deals. For example, a
friend had an insurance covered tummy tuck but she also had her breasts and
underarms done at the same time. It was FAR less expensive because the
surgeon charged the insurance for most of the anesthesia. I used to work
for Blue Shield, and similar claims would come in. You may be able to get
the surgeon to upgrade your procedure to a tummy tuck with you only paying
the difference in his time, which may not come to all that much after the
insurance pays for the loose skin removal. It is really all in how it is
coded and billed and the doctors usually only care about getting paid.
I know it didn't exactly answer your question, but I hope it was helpful.
Best of luck <3<3

I had something similar. I had open RNY with hernia repair that never
completely healed and stayed infected so after 15 months I had the area
removed along with the lose skin. It was quite an experience with lots of
stitches and a bit uncomfotable but the results for me was I am finally
healed. the scars are not pretty and I have no navel but I am happy I
don't have an open incision any more.
