My Dr is very conservative, so until I lost 75% of my weight I was allowed
only protein and some veggies. I ate around 1/4- 1/2 cup of food at a pop.
I still try to eat 1/2 cup of food at a pop too, and I eat around six meals
a day. I would call your NUT and ask her.
Good luck!

Hi! This is a great question that shows how every clinic is different. My
clinic, perhaps a bit more conservative, allows bypass patients to consume
UP TO 2 ounces at every meal, 3 meals a day, no snacking....while you are
losing weight. It helps to modify your eating long after losing the weight
and while you are maintaining. You are used to eating a little each meal.
Of course after you get to goal, the rules change a bit...you eat 4 to 5
meals a day to get the calories to stop losing and each meal is about 4
ounces. I have done this for 11 months now..maintaining that is. I lost 120
lbs in 10 months and went from being 240 lbs to 120 lbs and am 4 foot 11
inches. I dont feel deprived and know that my pouch is still small. I still
measure my foods out at most meals, but can eyeball it pretty much now ...I
am 21 months out from surgery. I feel so much better aned food is not a
constant thing for me any longer. It no longer rules my life and my
attitude towards it has changed. Take this time while you have no hunger to
really think about why you over ate, and re educate yourself on the
nutritional values of food and what you put into your body. Eating
healthily is something you will wan to do forever to keep the weigth off
and be healthier. Being smaller doesn't ensure health, but eating right
plays a big part in it. Your (our) body needs to consume foods with a
bigger nutritional punch since our absorbtion has been altered. I wish you
only luck and congrats on your new journey! In a year you will be
like...wow I wish I had done this years ago. Hugs N God Bless, Kim

People can give you a "suggested or recommended" amount, but we
all move along at our own pace and there really isn't a correct answer.
You eat til you are satisfied, not full. You should feel no pain and you
should listen to yur own body and signals...After a year you will have
worked up to "about" a cup of food...

Hi Barbara! At 10 weeks, I was still eating about 2 ounces per meal,
mainly protein, 5 to 6 times per day. I ate a lot of tuna or chicken
salad, poached fish, carbmaster yogurt, Eggbeaters, protein-powder enhanced
sugar-free-fat-free pudding, fat-free cottage cheese with a little bit of
dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix in it for flavor, Weight Watchers
string cheese, stuff like that.
