3 years after receiving my RNY I placed the Realize Band (almost same as
Lap Band) on top of my RNY Pouch. When I plateau'd out and started to gain
weight. As of last April, I've lost 100 pounds and now with the Holidays
over finally getting back in gear to becoming healthier.

I am also a little over seven years out- I found out recently by going with
my sister who is going to also have bariatric surgery that it is done quite
different than seven years ago. I used BTC now BARIX. I have the
complications of severe anemia requiring infusions, calcium deficiency, and
weight regain. They now make a sepprate route from the old stomach to the
new pouch to give it the stomach acids to allow absorbtion of minerals and
breakdown to allow ferritan to turn into usable iron. I personally am going
to attempt to see if a revision to the newer version to decrease the
problems I'm having and having my pouch reduced at the same time. The other
thought is asking if making my proximal to more of a distal is a option.
The lap band works for enlarged stoma's but if your regaining because of
grazing than the food just slips right through like it's doing now.
