Marybeth..I have asked you on several of your questions..but you have never
responded to me..Have you seen a DR yet? or a NUT? All your questions
really need to be directed to the DR that will(??) eventually do your
surg.I have seen different Drs give different advise for same surgeries.
Again, the answer we all give is the one that OUR Dr has given to us(for
our needs) in the office visit or at a SUPPORT meeting. Have you gone yet
to a support meeting? I hope you can find a good support meeting that you
and your family could attend. I really think it would be alot of help for
you.

I agree with Julie. You need to select a surgeon and meet with him/her and
the nutritionist to see what guidelines they have for vitamins. You will be
taking them for the resst of your life, and believe me, you want to get it
right.

I take a whole food supplement as a vitamin and it works great for me. With
VSG you generally don't need as much additional vitamin intake because you
process your foods more completly than with RNY. Some doctors recommend
calcium and vitamin B 12 too. It is a good idea to talk to your doctor and
based on what your blood work tells them will help them to determine what
you need to take.

malaborbtion is not a problem so you will want a multi vitamin, porbably
calcuim, maybe iron. It will depend on your blood work. Eating a balance
diet will keep you from needing as many vit.
