it should stop soon, i had my rny on 01/07/09 and i thought i would never
be able to even drink water again, but it does get back to normal, just
remember to not rush it small slow sips and bites, my dr. said it was just
because you can feel all the new conections. Good Luck and Congratulations
on your choice.

My surgery was on July 31, and if I try to eat or drink too fast I have he
same problem. Try to drink and eat slowly. Good luck and God bless you!

I had this problem for nearly 6 months after surgery - although it got
progressively better over that time. What caused it in my case was not
taking small enough bites, not chewing food until it was the consistency of
pureed foods, and eating too fast (it took me 30-45 minutes to get down a
couple ounces!). Drinking water too fast caused the same problems. It
does get better, though. I found I couldn't eat dense protein until about
5 or 6 months out, and still had difficulty with beef until about 10 months
out. Eat person is different, but basically we have to learn to eat
differently because our stomachs and stomas are so much smaller - if you
eat too much, too fast, or food that isn't chewed enough, it gets stuck or
fills up too fast. Congrats, by the way, on having your surgery! I'm so
excited for you! You are on your way to a whole new life!

You may want to talk to your surgeon, some people need dilation during week
