Question:
What is up with this bad taste in my mouth?
And how can I get it to go away?! Brushing my teeth doesn't seem to help and the taste is so bad it completley makes me not want to eat anything because its gross. — jtaormina (posted on June 23, 2009)

The taste in your mouth (and therefore your lovely breath) is a result of
your body going into Ketosis, which is when your body begins to burn your
stored fat. When y ou look at it this way, it's actually a good thing!
But, it's not the nicest taste or smell, and I have been told that you can
take probiotic capsules to help with it. I just bought some yesterday at
GNC because I'm having the same issue, so I'll let you know if it works,
but it apparently takes quite some time. Good luck, and if anyone else
has solutions, I'd love to hear from you!

She's right. The good thing is it encourages you to sip something all the
time. I chew sugar free gum alot.

I found that taking peppermint oil tablets made it a bit better. It
releases in your lower gut, and starts there, as opposed to just trying to
rid that taste with gum.
Peppermint oil is also recommended for calming the intestines for those
with IBS.
