Question:
Stomaphyx
I am almost three years out. My surgeon says that my Stoma was constructed larger than it should have been thus hampering weight loss and hunger. Has anyone had the Stomaphyx surgery. — cheryl W. (posted on June 8, 2009)

Dispite it's name, the StomaPhyx procedure has nothing to do with actually
fixing the stoma. What this procedure does is to fold the stomach walls
upon themselves to create a smaller pouch. About the only way to repair an
enlarged stoma is to have a surgery that actually makes the stoma smaller.
These procedures are usually done laproscopically. This is not to say that
you would not benefit from the StomaPhyx procedure, it is just that the
procedure is not designed for what you think it is used for. I hope this
helps, Hugh
