It is a 5 day return to immediate post op diet to re-establish when
feelings of satiety occur to help return to eating pattern. There is a web
site that describes it (www.5daypouchtest.com), They sell a book describing
it and providing numerous recipes but the basics of what to do is on the
web site for free.I'm still very early in the process but it is nice to
know that there are several Back on Track support services as well as tools
like the 5 day pouch test to help if ever I start to regain and need help.

Hi David,
I am just finishing my 5 day pouch test today. I had gastric by pass
12-28-06, and I felt like I was not doing well and started re-gaining, and
it scared me, because I did not want to get in bad shape again, and I sure
didn't want all of the weight(105 lbs.)again! I could not tell if I was
full or not, and I started to snack alot, or graze some call it,then I
thought my pouch wasn't working, so I read about this 5 day pouch test, and
thought why not try it. Well I did and I am so happy that I did! Because I
found out today that my pouch IS working! YEAH! The test will break you
from all of the carbs, crackers, potatoe chips, slider foods. If done right
by the 5th day you can feel your pouch working again. Today(the 5th day)I
could have chicken, and boy after a few bites my pouch said NO MORE! And it
meant it! ha I have not had that feeling for over a year, so I was really
happy to only be able to eat a little bit, because just 5 days ago I could
eat just about any thing I wanted and too much of it, so I am happy knowing
that it does work. Any one out there that is going thru any of these
problems, give the 5 day pouch test a try.You will be happy that you
did.Good Luck!
