I am 9 mts out tomorrow and I am suppose to get 60-80 grams a day. But
every dr/nut is different. I do not get it all in by food. I have one
protien drink a day like Adkins Advantage or Slim Fast.

The basic guidelines are for 60 grams of protein...It is based on a 150 lb
woman. Here is a site that will give you a better idea based on your age
and weight...It's an average...We are all different...some of us require
more or less based on our activity and muscle mass...etc...Try it
out...http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/protein.asp
This calculator says I need about 88 grams...I usually get over 80-100
daily...so I am right on!

My doctor say 60 for women and 80 for men.
A small package of peanuts is 13 grams
There are protien bars that are between 10 and 20 that taste good.

Virtually all programs vary, but I my bariatric center recommends a minimum
of 65 gm. If it's hard to get in, try adding a protein supplement drink to
your regimen or adding some protein powder to a food or drink.
HTH. Take care & God bless!

My surgeon said for women we need a minimum of 60 grams of protein a day -
but I was losing muscle and hair at that level - so we upped it to minimum
of 70 - I get about 80-90 grams a day and do much better. I have one meal
a protein shake that is 30 grams, and then two other meals a day with no
more than a cup of food - usually chicken at one meal (about 24 grams of
protein for 3 oz), and cottage cheese (about 14 grams of protein for 1/2
cup) and some kind of beans (e.g. refried beans, etc.) for the other meal,
plus a glass of non-fat milk (8 grams). It varies, but not a lot.

The amount that YOU need really depends on what your current weight is.
Divide your weight by 2.2 then multiply by 0.8 That is the amount that YOU
need.
