Question:
Am I doing something wrong?
I am scared that I'm doing something wrong. I was 296 when I had my surgery and by Christmas eve I was 222. Today I am 213. 9 pounds in two months. I know weight loss slows down but should it be slowing down this much. I want to get to a healthy weight so bad. I even kicked up my excerise another day and it is not helping. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions on what I should try? — amylbarron (posted on February 25, 2009)

I am not sure what type of surgery you had but that does seem slow. Are you
being careful not to eat carbs? Has your dcotor given you a diet to follow?
If not see if you can meet with a dietian to help you plan your meals.
You may just be at a stall in you weight loss. If so drink more water and
just give it time. Suddenly the weight will begin to come off again.

You're doing nothing wrong. When you're heavy weight comes off fast, when
you're smaller it comes off slow. I'm 213 lbs and losing about 1-1.5 lbs
per week. I don't make huge sacrifices at this rate, only dropping a few
calories a week or doing a tiny bit of exercise to make my goal. I dare say
it's almost effortless. Before I got my lapband I was always in a rush. Now
I don't care how slow I go, as long as the weight never comes back.

this may sound weird, but I actually had to eat more to lose weight. I had
to increase my calorie intake and then weight started coming off. Talk to
you nutritionist about this. When I get to a stall I usually re evaluate
how many cals I am eating and how much protein I am getting in. I eat 3
meals a day at about 3 oz a meal. I still measure out my food and I am 8
months out and 4 lbs from goal. I have been a slow loser..about 10 lbs a
month after initial drop. Good luck and try different things. But
definately talk with your dr or nut. Good luck! and congrats on the loss!
